I'm concerned......thinking of calling his pedi

Yesterday afternoon I was nursing my son. Nothing out of the ordinary. Well while he was nursing I noticed that from his neck up he started shaking for 3 seconds and then stopped for 1 second and the started shaking again for 3 seconds.

Then, about 10 minutes ago, I was breastfeeding him again. And again, he started shaking but this time it was from his chest up. He shook for a second and then stopped for a second and then shook again for 3 seconds and then stopped for a second and then shook again for 4 seconds and then stopped.

For some reason this only happens when he's breastfeeding and it happens at the end of it.

I'm very concerned, should I call his pedi?

I'm thinking it might just be the nervous system, since it's not fully developed yet.

when he was a month old his fist would switch and i asked the nurse and doctor about it and they said it's just the nervous system working because it's not fully developed yet.

You can always call, but it sounds like the nervous system.  My twins did that for almost 3 or 4 months.  They'd also roll their eyes back too.  It sounds like nervous system to me :-D

If it's at the end of a nursing session, it's probably the jaw quivering with the comfort (non-nutritive) sucking babies do for comfort. My son does that... his face looks like it's vibrating. :)

I would call, but see if you can get a video first to send to your doc. It is much easier for them to tell you if it is normal!

My best friends son use to do this and I noticed myself when he was about four months old and I babysat him. His legs would go a little stiff and shake for a few seconds and then stop. Her dr said the same thing about an underdeveloped nervous system. He was born at 36 weeks and was tiny so they told her just to give him time. It went away and he had no major symptoms but this last year when he was 5 he began having absent seizures. After some tests he has officially been diagnosed with epilepsy. I would have him checked out and if it keeps up stay on top of it until you have answers. They now think the episodes my friends son had as a newborn was actually seizure activity.

My nephew would shake like that, he was fine.  But that was him.

Call the Dr and ask. That's what they are there for! Don't feel silly calling, you know how many times I have called to ask 'weird" things over the past 9 years...better to be safe, and know what's going on!

That was hard to read because I would of already called his pediatrician. That very concerning and I don't recommend getting any medical advice from this site. I hope everything is fine with your baby and good luck:)

If he recently had vaccines, then he is probably having seizures.  If he is, the package insert for vaccines says to discontinue them.  If you dont, the next ones will make it worse or permanent.  Non_vaccinated  children are healthier and you dont have to worry about seizures and brain damage.  Vaccinated children have 5 times more problems and health issues than the NON-vaccinated.  Research them and look and see what ingredients they put in them.  Very toxic....
