I floss, then swish, then brush. To me it's breaking stuff down and getting between the teeth before I brush.
Dh says to swish AFTER you brush. His makes sense too I guess but never thought about it.
This came up when the girls started using it.
Well? Before or after??
If i do it at all, i do it after so it can grab anything i may have missed. I am horrible at flossing.
The directions are almost always on the bottle. I'd follow those to be most effective. Some say to use before brushing, some indicate after brushing. It usually depends on what the mouthwash is supposed to do. Mouthwashes designed to strengthen teeth usually indicate swishing after brushing. Mouthwashes designed to breakdown plaque, kill germs, and whiten indicate swishing before brushing. I have both kinds, and I alternate, one in the morning, the other at night.
