Invest in a fisher price rock n play! It's like a travel bassinet but they are at an angle. They buckle in and you can gently rock it by hand. DD2 has reflux. I co sleep often but that is the best thing ever! I wish I had one with DD1 and my friend loves hers too. The angle will help with the discomfort  and you don't have to co sleep since you seem against it. It's also much safer than trying to sleep upright holding a baby.

And this is weird but sleep with your babys pjs for a night. Your scent will be on them so your LO will smell you and feel close to you.

I remember when my daughter was a newborn she would only fall asleep in her carseat.  So thats where I'd put her to sleep.  That only lasted for a couple weeks then she got used to the cradle.

How is it going? Has his sleep improved?

It did but know almost 4 months he's waking up 3-4 times from sleeping all night since about 6-8 weeks. Dealing with it the best I can thanks for asking.
