stuffy 2 yr old...what to do?

My son has a cold and is really congested.Any tips on how to help him? I have the johnsons vapor bath soap but it doesnt work to well and the vicks baby vapor rub irritates his skin which bothers him and trying to use the little suctioner for the mucus is redundant because he ends up crying which makes more mucus.i just feel so bad for him because when he tries to sleep its hard for him to breath.

I'd try a humidifier in his room.

That's what the pediatrician told me to use...also saline nose drops help, you can put some in his nose and then suction it.  When DS was really small the pediatrician said that when they have a cold they can sleep in a carseat so it's easier for them to breathe.  Hope your little one feels better soon, sounds like he's getting lots of TLC.

E use something with eucalyptus oil, or menthol. That's what vicks is without the chemicals. I think doTerra has a congestion mix.

Saline nose spray always works really well when my little ones are stuffed up.

turn on the shower and sit outside of it  then suction his nose and calm him quickly.. you could also try fresh air. When Natalie is sick I do both and it usually clears her nose just enough to fall asleep for a while. Hope he gets better soon!

It's a brand, or line, of essential oils. Google it.
