We have a 18.8 lb Turkey, when should i start to thaw the sucker?? Lol its my second attempt at a Turkey i just want to get it right this time !! :@)

Yea he did. Lol he's great . I saw that episode not too long ago told bf he said basting was pointless he was like wuuuuuut?! I was thinking of making a brine

And no one will agree but I thaw mine in a bucket in the garage. It's plenty col here and with all the prep ready there's no room in the fridge. :)

I remember hearing 1 day for every 4lbs for thaw time, or if your thawing it in cold water then it's 30min for every 4lbs changing the water frequently

read the bck it will tell you how many days plus, how long to cook it......  if wed it isnt thawed then put it in sink it whater, id take it out today

Am putting mine in a brine tomorrow. Last year I did a beer brine this year am going with a white wine and some citrus.

I usually make a salt/ sugar/ herb brine and it comes out really juice every time with no basting.
