Has any mom in here been induced early due to hypothyroidism? If so, when and how was your experience?
I was induced with two of my kids. The first I was two weeks over and the second on my due date. Pitocin was NOT my friend. For me, it was hard and sudden. I had to have my water broke each time for labor to progress. I'm a very small woman and my first was 10 lbs. That's why I was induced on my due date the second time. I thought that one was a breeze compared to the first. He weighed 9.4. lol . Really I think it all depends on how fast the drip is for the pitocin. The faster the drip, the harder the contractions (or the closer together they are). I don't know, but for me it was just nasty.
Induced at 35 weeks with #2 for PROM and 37 weeks with #3 for Cholestasis. Not the way I wanted either pregnancy to end... totally got cheated out of nearly 2 months of pregnancy!
My 2nd child was induced 3 weeks early , but it was due to my water leaking. Any inducing makes labor more intense ,as pitocin has a way of doing that . That was March 2005 & I went through 17 1/2 hours of labor & 6 minutes of hard pushing. 8lbs 5 oz 20 inches long (( 3 weeks early ! imagine if she'd stayed in longer lol )) Then in 2007 I had my 3rd child induced but I was 40 weeks , once again the pitocin causes much more intense contractions and labor . 16.5 hours of labor 12 minutes of pushing 8lbs 12 oz 20 inches :-) April 2007. My 1st came by my water breaking naturally 2 days before my due date - May 2003 but they had to give me pitocin (( what they use to induce labor )) anyways . 18.5 hours of labor 1 1/2 hours pushing and 9lbs 1 1/2 oz 21 3/4 inches :-)
Everyone I've ever heard talk about getting induced said it's much more intense than when you don't have pitocin . I wish you the best luck & a fast, easy & Healthy dilvery
