I don't wash my fruits and veggies so can't help you.
I rinse in cold water after I split large pieces off the head. Then I lay out a sheet of paper towel for just enough to fit in on one sheet, then put another piece of paper towel over that spread out lettuce and begin layering it that way with paper towel covering top layer. I pat a bit gently and keep patting gently until it is pretty much dry using more paper towel if necessary. It works really well - just don't press hard when patting or it ruins lettuce. Works for me and hope this might work for you.
Quoting -42-:Salad spinner! Those are fun to use!
I use romaine. I rinse it before I cut it and shake it hard. If I want it REALLY dry, I just a kitchen towel. Romaine is pretty flat, so it dries pretty easily.
What kind of lettuce do you use?
What about one of those salad spinner things?
Salad spinner! My SIL got me hooked on using one. It works great.
Quoting SouthTxPrincess:I don't dry it, I just shake excess water off and make a salad.
Ya'll must go through a TON of paper towels! It's lettuce...it's 99% water anyway! LOL Just plunk it in a bowl, put stuff on it and enjoy! If it bothers you that much that it's wet, pat it dry with a towel.
I pat it with a dishtowel.
