My daughter is 7 and she use to. But now that she is in school and we have a 17 month old, we have let it slip. My hubby and I use to both read to her and sing to her before bed but now we are in such a hurry to get the kids in bed because the 7 year old has school and the babyis tired, that she hasn't been saying them and now that I try to get her to say them, she doesn't want to. Mybhubbybputs her to bed while I put the baby to bed. My hubby lays with her and they talk and snuggle but he doesn't push the point of her saying a prayer. And you would think he would be the one to do it since he grew up in church! We don't go to church but we believe in god and I do say a prayer every night as I think we should all be thankful for what we have! It is beginning to bother me that she doesn't want to say a prayer anymore!
Do you lead by example?
Does she see you saying prayers at meal time?
Do you join (lead) her when you want her to say them?
Children learn far more about what we value by watching our actions than they ever will by having us tell them to do something "because it is important."
