See what CafeMoms are saying about saving time this holiday season..
DD has always had sleep issues. Until she was a year old I had to hold and nurse her through every nap and most of the night. If I even twitched a muscle or readjusted in my seat she woke screaming. Then she learned (through some CIO) how to go to sleep on her own and how to sleep in a crib. That lasted a few months but I still had to nurse and do this 45-minute routine before every nap and before bed at night. Now she'll be two in less than a week and for the past two weeks cries herself to sleep, has night terrors 3-6 times every night (one was 50 mminutes long), goes to sleep crying, wakes up crying and now in the past two days has had a new sleep issue. She gets sleepy at the regular nap time so I put her down at 12:30 (after the routine) and she cries initially when I leave the room, then plays for an hour or two or even longer, then starts crying, howling/moaning again, crying "Mummy hold you, hold you, hold you..." over and over for like maybe a half an hour or more until she either escalates into being totally hysterical or she just cuts off abruptly (like someone turning the radio off) and falls asleep. Then she naps for anywhere from 45 minutes to three hours and always wakes up screaming like someone just broke her leg or something. After nap it takes at least 20 minutes for her to stop screaming, but then she is still heaving for probably another 20 minutes. I have no idea what is going on, I talked with the doctor and she is clueless on anything that's not a direct medical issue. She suggested I "read some books", which I have done, and nothing in any book or online has described my kid. So here I am, asking you, does anyone have any clue what is going on with my kid? DH and I were considering having another one but she is so difficult and we'd have to have them share a room that I just don't think it's possible. Thanks!
