Mine hurt, but everybody's pain level is different. I got mine after having three 9+ pound babies. I have blue footprints, with each sons name next to the footprint.

I have 3 tattoos near my ankles and a huge one on my lower back. All hurt pretty bad for me, but the lower back was the worst! If it's a smaller tattoo that will take around a half hour or less, it shouldn't be too bad. I would recommend avoiding being on your feet all day for a day or two afterwards. I've always had jobs where I am standing ALL day, and my ankle tattoos have been painfully throbby if I have to be on my feet for hours at a time for the day or so after.
