What type of books?   I dont know what is available in your area for book stores.   We tend to just borrow from library to read for dd rther than spend money on books she may read only once or twice.

I loved when we had a borders, the clearance sections were always great!

Scholastic mags have $1 and $2, $3 selections...

Library is your best bet though. :)

Goodwill, salvation army thrift stores, american rescue workers, any other second hand store. I've found some pretty great books from those stores.

used book stores , Scholastic , yard sales , craigslist, ebay , amazon...oh and library book sales. Sometimes ours in .10 a book or 4 for .25 or fill a bag for a dollar. The last time I spent under ten dollars and was able to get over 100 books. I shared with friends and family . They werent all kids books but there were tons of them .

Garage sales and library used bookstores are super good deals.
