Advice for Moms Advice for Moms
I have a one week old. I am breast feeding but his Dr is having me supplement with formula. I'm good about burping him frequently but he gets the hiccups pretty often and seems gassy all day. Could it be his formula or my breast milk?? I'm a first time mother so this may be a common sense question but I just didn't know.

Why are you supplementing? The formula is probably causing the gas.

Congratulations on your new baby!!!!

I would talk to the ped and find out what it could be.

I'm kinda curious as to why you are supplimenting as well. I supplimented for a while too. Then decided to just go to formula because I was no longer producing anywhere near what I needed to.

Thank you. The Dr had me supplement with enfimil because I wasn't producing enough milk and now the baby will out-eat any newborn. Between formula and breast milk he eats about every hour and a half. But he seems kinda gassy and hiccups a lot.

Thank you for all your advice. My supplementing may soon be a thing of the past but I appreciate everyone's advice as a new mother who is still learning what's cause for concern and what's no big deal
