Hi Mommies -

quick question... did any of your babies decrease the amount of formula they were drinking when rice was added to their bottles? My daughter is 5 months old and is not eating as much due to the rice... the doc told me to add to bottle for acid reflux

I never used formula or put rice in a bottle. it makes sense that she would eat less though, since the rice is probably more filling than just formula.

I would cut back on the rice cereal and increase the formula amount for her bottles.   From what i understand the rice cereal has no nutritional purpose and baby should have all formula.

My DD has severe silent reflux and for whatever reason Thick it she wouldn't eat so we used the cereal AND Enfamil AR to FINALLY get her eating.  Also know that one symptom of reflux can be over eating because it soothes the pain in their throats to have the warm liquid coming down which causes the reflux to be worse because of the overeating. How many ozs  is baby eating?

I have never used formula or cereal. Cereal is unhealthy anyways.
