Has he seen a doctor to find the cause? That would be the first step.

Next is take him to the doctor again. They'll probably want to do an EEG and/or an MRI. I have a friend going through it with her son. They still don't know what's causing them but they at least have him on meds. They don't know what causes them on my little sister either and have not put her on meds beause she's only had two in her 14 years of life. People get them for different reasons.

1 mom liked this

He needs to see a doctor and neurologist for extensive testing now.  I cant remember which tests though. There are some people who have seizures for no reason apparent and then stop having them.  There are many types of seizures so he could have been having them for awhil.e

My nephew had 4 seizures as a toddler, one lasted 22 minutes on his left side of the body only.
He lost some memory from that one, but is fine now.
He was diagnosed with epilepsy and has to carry around this medication enema thing.
He is 6 now, and hasn't been on meds since he was 4. He hasn't had a seizure either. It just went away.
They don't know why it happened. or why it stopped.

Well, I am glad to know, it can have a chance they out grow it. This just has taken us for such a loop. My daughter don;t know how to feel at this point.  I think she's more afraid of Why this is happening to him at such a young age. What caused this.  Yes, they are saying they don't know what is causing the seizures.  He has a lot of test schedule coming up.  Yesterday, while they were at the Dr. office..he had a small seizure right in the office, she said. So, the Dr says get MRI..soon.  I have been trying to find on internet information on this.  If you know any websites, please let me know.  Thankyou.

Has the doctor classified which kind of seizures he is having? Hopefully you can get in soon to a good pediatric hospital.

Well, My Grandson ended up having another seizure on Sunday, early morning. It was a longer one.  He had to be admitted to the hospital for MRI and EMG test right away.  He even had 2 seizures whie he was there. He is back home now and has started medication.  They are saying it seems to be Epilesy. smh :(  He"s still active.mr.wildy.  I just feel so bad he has to go thru this.  so little. 5yrs old.  Wish I could find more information on this.  The medication has so many many side effects. Anyone with information or know anything regarding this,, Please let me know.  Thankyou all.
