Is this appropriate for a 4 year old to wear?

I'm looking to buy my four year old a new swimsuit.  I think this is cute and it covers well, but I just can't decide if it's appropriate.  I have seen the same type of ruffle/lace details on young adult clothing.  I am very modest and trying teach my child the same.  I'm getting frustrated trying to find cute swimwear that doesn't attempt to sexualize children.

It is fine but if you are worried about the eyelet details here is another skirted suit ....... http://www.landsend.com/pp/StylePage-427351_AH.html?amp;CM_MERCH=REC-_-FPPP-_-GGT-_-2-_-427351-_-427357

Those are on my list of possibilites as well.  I just couldn't decide on a pattern that I actually liked.  I could just go completely plain, but she's a girl and I want her to have cute things too.  I've thought about doing swim shirts and shorts for both modesty and sun protection.  I feel like I'm probably overthinking this.

Yes overthinking this.  I am a fairly modest person myself and i let dd pick out her swimsuits.  She picks out  one piece suits and finds a matching skirt to go with it.   My mom bought the girls 2 pieces for the backyard to play in.

Tropical Love One-Piece Swimsuit & Cover-Up - Girls Plus  <<  dd's usual choice.
