Posted by   + Show Post
So as some of u may have saw a few days ago. My knee gave out on me when I slip in a puddle of water and I fractured my foot. Well anyways my foot is doing alot better. But my knee on the other hand is getting worse. I have already had one surgery on my knee and have been told that I need another. But my knee is so messed up that their isn't a surgen in the town I live in who knows how to do the surgery I need and no doctor out of town will except my insurance. And every since I fell this last time every time I turn my leg towards the left it fells like its ripping out of place it hurts so bad. If any one has any idea on what I could do to fix it/ or stop the pain or any advice at all please let me know

Sorry momma, maybe a brace to help support your knee?

There are doctors that accept Medicaid. You simply have to do a bit of research. The Internet makes that very easy.

From the US Department of Health and Human Services -

http://answers.hhs.gov/questions/3308

http://www.medicare.gov/find-a-doctor/provider-search.aspx

The above site lets you do a search by state, county, city, zip code, or even just by doctor's name.

You need to look for an orthopedist.

You can also ask your current doctor if he/she can refer you a specialist that would take Medicaid. Yours can not be the first Medicaid knee that they have ever treated that needed fixing/replacing.

you need a dr, thats all I got. Call the number on the card and get a list of providers.

That's BS. If a doc doesn't have the ability to do something that's when you get a referral to a doc who specializes in whatever it is.

That's my problem I don't know if I tore anything but my knee does need repaired but the doctors around here are dumb and don't know how. That's what my surgen said to me that her can't do my surgery because he don't know how.

If you've torn a tendon, it needs to be repaired.  You need an MRI.

He is specialized in knee surgerys just not mine. Lol he said that he never bothered to luern the ripe of surgery that I needed because 98% of the time what is wrong with my knee can be fixed by therapy. But given the fact that I have been in and out of therapy since I was 17 ( I am 23 now) that I am the 2% that needs surgery to fix it.....its not my insurance company denying me its the doctors. I have seen every specialist in my town none of them know how to do it and they r trying to refer me out of town but no one wants to take my insurance

You have to be your own advocate. Push him to send you to someone who can do it.
