I'm a single mom with a 5, almost 6 yo DD. I work but we also get family assistance which includes some daycare assistance.
Several times recently my DD burst into tears right after I picked her up from daycare.
She's told me that there are three girls, a clique I guess, who are always picking on her and teasing her. They've even called her a welfare bastard. I guess that's what they hear from their parents.
Anyway, I talked to the daycare director. She said she'd tell staff members to keep an eye out and intervene. Things were better for a couple of weeks but then the teasing started up again. I talked to the director again but she just said what she'd said before.
Now Emily- my DD- hates daycare. She's very clingy when I drop her off and it breaks my heart to have to leave her in that situation. I've explained to her that we can't afford` for her to stay home or to go to another daycare center, but that doesn't make it any easier.
Then last week I got a call at work to pick up Emily- my DD- because she'd wet herself. It happened again this week. I was told that if it happened again I would have to pay an extra $100 per month that they charge for kids who aren't potty trained.
Now Emily has to wear pullups to daycare, even though she's been potty trained for 3 years.
I'd really appreciate any advice on how to get the daycare people to take me seriously, and do something about this bullying.
I hope that's not TMI.
