What is a good age to take a child to the movie theater for the first time? Obviously there are other factors, like behaviour, but I'm just talking age here.

I took both my girls at a bit over two.. they loved it.. we went early.. to the first showing of the day.. that works best because there will usually only be like three other parents there with their children.. they were so excited about the popcorn lol. We have been three times.. they always ask to go.

Depends on the kid. Mine were about 3 1/2. They sat well.

Erin went to her first at 3 1/2.  I don't see the big deal.  If they can't sit still and be quiet leave and try again in 6 months.  Each child is differant.

Whatever age your child understand, sit still, be quiet, and enjoy the movie.

I said age 4, but a 3 year old who knows how to behave in public would be fine, too. We found that our 3 year old behaved well, but he couldn't tell the difference between the previews and the movie so mixed it all up in his mind.

I said 5 because I have still not taken my 4 year old to a movie but I think he will be ready by 5. He is super active and there is no way he can sit. I tried to take my niece (who is calm and well behaved) at 4 and it was horrible. So I think a bit later is better

My DD was 5. I think over 3 is good.
