carpeted or hardwood floor bedrooms?

I am moving into a new 2 bedroom apartment and the owner is giving me option of hardwood floors in the entire home, or just dinning and living areas and the rooms carepeted.

what would you do? would you leave the rooms carepeted?

The place is juts for me and my almost 2 year old son.

I feel that hardwood floor is healthier but I am afriad the bed would just keep slinding in the bedroom.

Rent price will differ based on how much hardwood floor I want

Any suggestions?

thanks

If I had a choice I would pick hardwood floors.

he's giving me a choice and rent is $ 50 higher if everything is hardwood floor.I am just thinking about how hardwood floor can be damaged by the wheels of the bed

Hardwood! I did carpet in my bedrooms and I hate it! As long as he doesn't get a soft wood it will be fine and you can put a may under the bed to keep it from sliding!

Yes, but stains are hard to come out of carpet sometimes unless you have a carpet cleaner. I would think hardwood would be easier to clean. No idea though cause I rent and have carpet.

Buy the pads to go on your furniture that protect the floor. Your bed wont slide.
The thought of carpet makes me ill. You wouldn't dream of throwing a sweater down on the floor and walking all over it. Then only clean it by a daily vacuum.
Your landlord also has HIS costs bass ackwards. It costs more initially for hardwood but, replacing carpet over and over with each tenant is many more times the cost to install hardwood. The chances of you damaging hardwood are slim compared to carpet.
One spill of red juice and you are buying new carpet. One child vomiting up red juice is 100% going to cost you. You can also have a quick repair done to a damaged spot on hardwood. Much less than replacing a room of carpet.
If you want the feel of carpet get a good area rug and pad.

I would take laminate throughout any day. Dh is against it.

Our compromise is carpet in bedrooms.

I had the choice when we got this house. I chose to keep carpet in the bedrooms. I wanted Emily to be able to play on the floor on fluffy carpet. I am very happy with our choice.
Plus I don't want cold wood floors in my bedroom either.
We have bamboo and tile in the rest of the house. And it's cold on the feet. My kid bites it all the time. But I LOVE not having carpet everywhere else.
