My almost 6 dd and almost 4 ds would not keep there room cleaned up. I would go in there to tuck them in to bed and make sure the room was clean and would find clothes and toys everywhere! The worst was when I had to look for 20 minutes to find dds easter dress because it was buried under toys animals, trash and clothes. I cleaned it all out and made them put it all away. Two days later they had done it again! I made them clean it out and put it away again. I had put some stuffed toys (Raggedy Ann and Andy, ballerina frog that was handmade for dd that i didn't want her playing with, etc) up in the top of the closet because their petnet kept falling down (I'm sure they helped it). They kept taking them down and I would put it back up. I came in the room and they had the frog down, her clothes and shoes off and all over the room and the closet a mess again! It was the last straw. I made them bag up ALL of their stuffed animals and put all their toys in the toy box and I took them out of their room. They were doing pretty good with keeping the room clean and clothes out of the floor. My dh is a sahd and I came home from work one day to hear that my ds had pulled a bunch of Pez that we had put on the wlls as decoration off and opened them and ate the candy. Then the same night my dd comes out of her room crying. She had decided to walk on the end of her bed balancing on the rail. It broke off (she was still in a toddler bed because shes small for her age) and she fell and got a great big gouge on the inside of both thighs and a scratch right above her pubic area. I took her in the bathroom and cleaned her up, bandaged her and then told her to go sit on her bed because she knows better then to stand on the furniture or her bed because she had broken a slat on the bottom from jumping on it a year ago. I went back to the kitchen to finish dinner and then go in the room to find my ds jumping on his bed! My dh and I then stripped there room of all wall hangings, decorations and their beds. All they have left are their dressers and mattresses.
Do you think thats going too far?
