So I put this question on another thread about vaccines, but that thread dissolved into who offended whom and which people had the right to take offense... That's okay, I guess. It wasn't my thread anyway.
My daughter is 12 and has most of the standard vaccines w/o ever having problems. I'm not completely against all vaccines. But we don't do the ones your body should be able to fight off yourself: flu, chicken pox, etc.
I know next time she sees the doc Gardasil will come up. I don't know how I feel about this one. There are so many parents that say your kid needs to be on birth control at 14 and you're naive if you don't get it for her, but I don't necessarily agree for my kiddo. At least for now, she doesn't seem to be headed that direction.
I know I wouldn't want the vaccine for myself. I feel like, when she's older, she can make the decision for herself whether she wants it. I also don't like that it's relatively new and I have heard about bad things happening to girls who got it, like the horror stories you hear about other vaccines.
What does everyone think about Gardasil?
