Any good Christmas book ideas?

I saw someone mention on CM, that every year, as a tradition they read, A Christmas Story, to their kids starting on Thanksgiving night.

I thought it was a cute tradition and I think I might want to do that, as well. However, I would like other book ideas besides, A Christmas Story. It needs to be a book long enough to last until Christmas Eve.

Any ideas for me?

"The Red Ranger Came Calling" is Darling. Look up Jan Brett she has several I love and the art work is fabulous.
"The Littlest Angel"
"Dear Santa"
"Polar Express"
"The Night Before Christmas"
"The Nutcracker" we have several of this one but Maurice Sendak (where the wild things are) illustrated this book and he did a great job.
"Room for a Little One"
"The little Match Girl"
"Dream Snow" Eric Carle(the very hungry caterpillar) did this one.
There are a few we love. We get our kids a new one every Christmas Eve a tradition started by my mom when I was little. She has tons of them. It's one of my favorite traditions.

Thanks so much for all the great book ideas! I have Polar Express but it's not long enough...I wonder if I can buy a longer version?

Isn't Jan Brett the author of, Gingerbread Friends? If so, you are right that the art work is great!

We don't have a long one we read the whole time, we just do shorter ones each night.  Great idea though!

I have thought about doing this, too. We have so many Christmas books.

One of my favorites but I think too short to last a few weeks.

We have always read "twas the night before Christmas" on Christmas eve. But my daughter loved it so much i got it in a board book to read daily. She also loved Frosty the snowman. I just did short books when she was little.

I thought about that, but I really want something long, that we can pick back up with each night. So there will be an anticipation of what happens next.
