Oh wow. Didn't think I'd be in a situation like this (especially not with my daughter who says "thank God I'm single, boys suck!"). I don't want to say she can't date him, because I've always parented by the philospiphy "If you love him, I love him" .....buttttttttt.... yeah. He's kinda old for her. I live in Alaska, and she goes to college in Minnesota (which is where he lives) so it's not like I can just meet him and gauge his character. He might be a great guy, but I don't know him, so it makes me nervous. Any advice?

7 years? That's not that big of a gap.

That's what I was thinking.

Is he still in school, OP? Did they meet on campus?

That isn't much of a gap. Plus guys who are 18-early 20s are dumber than box of rocks. If my daughter was to date a guy, I would prefer one who might be a tad older and mature. One who has gone to college and had a career.

I once dated a guy 11years older than me when I was 21.

The thing is...she's going to do what she wants. When I was 18...I was dating a 28 year old. It went on for about 2 years and he finally settled down with someone more his age.

No, he's graduated, they met at a restaurant. He came up to her (when she was with 4 other girls, so he's ballsy lol)

If she was 15 and he was 25 it'd be weird. 18 and 25 doesn't even seem that big.

Op go there. I agree it's a lot. I'm suprised those saying he's not.

Dh and I have a gap of 6 years. However I was 24 when we met.
