My MIL said she noticed her dd still has a frozen meat loaf and some meatballs and sauce in the freezer from 13 months ago. They ate it still. I would not eat any ground meat, even though it has been cooked, after probably 6 or 7 months let alone a year.

If it has already been cooked? Why not? My understanding is if RAW meat is thawed and then refrozen it becomes a problem. Also, if the meat was not stored the best it might be freezer burnt, but I don't think it would be UNHEALTHY. In my house, ground beef is a rare delicacy so it would NEVER have gone that long without having been eaten, and we try not to waste food unless it is going to make someone sick.

Ground beef stays good for six to eight months maximum cooked or uncooked in a good freezer.
