EFA blend for children

My son has been having mood swings and behavioral issues. A friend and a behavior specialist suggested giving my son these supplements before medication. Have any of you moms heard of or tried it?

Online it says it'll help with behavioral issues, ADD, ADHD, eczema, excessive thirst and other issues.

Never heard of that. I give my son calm child and it helps him. Not with adhd but with his behavior related to his sensory processing disorder and possible aspergers.

I've heard and have used this in different products but not EFA, is it like a health suppliment? Try going to a vitamin/health food store they are very knowledgable in this area! :D

How long before you notified a difference? Can you find this at any health store?

I noticed some difference in 3-4 days but took about 3wks for major differences. I buy it off vitacost.com or iherblife.com. On top of both of these tho, we also cut out red dye in her diet. Red Dye (red 40 is the worst) can cause hyperactivity and behavioral issues, especially if they have a sensitivity or allergy to it you don't know about. And I recommend NEVER giving children Crystal Light or any crap like that! My daughter had these patches on her that were kind of rashy and her behavior was the worst ever! Turns out, my ex dh was constantly giving them crystal light to drink and it was the cause of the rash and behavior. Within a week of not drinking it, she was better. 6 months later, I tested it out and let her have 1 cup of Crystal Light 2 days in a row...the patches started coming back and her behavior was through the roof! Pediatrician said its all the chemicals and dyes in it that was causing the problems.

My child's issues:
- Constantly running, jumping (she was leaping over couches even), and climbing (she would grab onto closet bar and pull herself onto the shelf, climb onto counters, anything she could)
- Talking NONSTOP and always very loud and fast
- Couldn't even slow down enough to look at you when talking to her, she would still be going 100miles an hr.
- Lots of whining!
- Not focusing on anything other than certain movies
- Not following through with tasks like picking up toys
- Wouldn't want to go to bed. When she did finally, she would just crash and pass out but would take 2+ hrs after we first told her to go to bed (bedtime 8:30, rarely asleep before 10:30-11, and sometimes she would be wide awake at 4-5 am even after falling asleep at midnight sometimes.

3-4 day improvements
- Stopped leaping over couches, jumping on things so much, hardly climbed anymore
- Could actually focus on you talking to her majority of the time
- Started to quietly color for 10+ mins at a time
- No more waking up at 4-5 am

3 wk improvements (they say 18 days is usually when results start to show)
- A few different times, she sat by herself quietly coloring for over an hr!
- She can focus on preschool workbooks (learning to write letters and numbers) and she can write about 5-6 letters now.
- Still runs around but not constantly!
- Talks a lot still but not as much and definitely not as loud
- Sometimes she will pick up her toys or do other tasks easily but mostly it takes some effort to get her to do it but its better than not doing it at all and its still improving some.
- Goes to bed easier most nights...usually out by 9 and awake at 8am, occasionally goes to bed on her own early and occasionally even wants a nap during the day.

We are still working on whining, listening, and some other behavioral issues. But our lives were nearly unbearable for awhile before we started her on the Chamomile Calm and Attention Daily. Now each day is manageable and its actually a joy to be around my daughter every day. My bf calls them miracle herbs and asked if we cd buy it by the gallon lmao. I actually don't even use the full dosages that it says and I've still had amazing results! I even use the Attention Daily for my 6yo on occasion when she's having trouble focusing on homework.

Oh also, my 6yo has been having mood swings (always been temperamental tho) and she has some behavior issues as well so we are going to try the chamomile calm on her as well for those issues when she's back from vacation.
