Design question about flowers?

I have a beige house with burgundy shutters. What flower color palette would look nice with my home?

I'm starting to think about what I want to plant but can't decide on color.

I would just do a variety of colors.  Pinks, purples, yellows, red's etc.

I like that idea but my husband likes more of a monochromatic look, so I want to make both of us happy. :)

I like white and blue, and have seen some soft yellows, that I like.

I like the softer yellow tones, so I could see it. Thanks.

Pansies have the burgundy color and other colors as well. Then you could play off of almost any color.

You could start with just one, then perhaps later introduce another color and see how you like it. It's better to have one dominant color then add splashes of another, and if you get really risky, maybe a small amount of another. It doesn't look good to the eye to have two equal amounts of color. Odd numbers always are more pleasing to the eye.  After your dh sees what you've done, he may be more receptive to add more.

There are also a lot of non flowering plants that have a burgundy tinge to the leaves; they're usually called purple, but that could also bring out the burgundy shutters.

Have you gone to different nurseries? Take a photo of your house. Usually the people there can be very helpful. They can tell you what will grow best in your area. They want you to be succdessful so you'll come back and buy more.
