Did you know that teens who receive the message from their parents that underage drinking is unacceptable are 80% less likely to drink?  Isn't that an amazing statistic? But how in the world do we start the dialogue?

Let CafeMom help with these 4 tools!

  1. Download the latest Power of ParentsĀ® handbook for tips to help you start the potentially lifesaving conversation about alcohol with your teens.

  2. Read through the handbook then come back to this post for a virtual parenting workshop where we'll share stories, concerns, and advice!

  3. Click here to submit questions to our team of experts; Dr. Robert Turrisi - the researcher behind MADD's Power of Parents program and Jan Withers - MADD National President.

  4. Click here to  tell us how YOU plan to talk with your teen and to enter our giveaway!

Reply below to let us know you'd like to participate!  We'll send you PMs with links and updates.

Thosre are pretty amazing statistics . . . who knew that saying, "Drinking before you're 21 is illegal and absolutely against our family rules" is so much better than saying, "I'd prefer you don't drink even though lots of other kids under 21 do."  (I'm paraphrasing.)

I also think that actions speak louder than words . . . kids who see parents drinking are more likely to drink.  (And have more opportunity, for that matter.)
