Wedding gift etiquette

I have a 2nd cousin getting married in another state and we aren't going but I thought about purchasing a gift off their registry. Would it be tacky to buy it and have them pick it up instead of dealing with shipping?

why not just ship it directly to them?  i would find it kind of tacky for them to have to pick it up.

Yes, it would be incredibly tacky to expect anyone to drive from a state away to collect their gift.

However, just about any store with wedding registries will ship directly to the happy couple. (And if you order online, chances are quite good that shipping will be free.)

Sorta I would just go down slightly in price on the gift and ship it or mail them a card saying you will give them the gift next time they or you visit and store the gift at your house

Ship it to them and usually orders over so much is free shipping .... I would ship and just spend the extra $5 to $10 bucks.

I would ship it to them.  We are going to a wedding this weekend and we had something from their registry shipped directly to them.  That is how it works.

It would be best to have it shipped to them.
