What do you do when you can't sleep?

I'm usually a pretty good sleeper, but occasionally, like last night, I can't get to sleep. I typically try watching TV quietly for a while and if that doesn't work, picking up a book or my Nook to read, and if that doesn't work, I'm just out of luck! LOL

So what do you do when insomnia strikes?

Following. I need advice on this too! Haven't really slept in 3 days for some reason and averaged 3-4 hours of broken sleep these last 3 days. I usually sleep 8ish. Moms, write in!

Oh, I hate it when suddenly you're in a no-sleep or broken sleep cycle like that! Did you have any caffeine, chocolate, or other stimulating foods or drinks lately?

2 moms liked this

I put a fleece blanket over my eyes.  Usually helps.

LOL, I used to do that when we lived in an apartment because of the bright light in the parking lot shining through the blinds on my bedroom window. Curtains weren't allowed, so I'd throw the blanket over my head, lol. How often do you struggle to sleep?

Not that often, but I now I just keep the blanket on top of my pillow just in case.  I like the softness and the darkness it provides.  But it can't go over my nose! lol

That often helps me, too. Do you read a traditional book or on an e-reader?

I can't ever play music at night - I'll get overstimulated and be unable to get to sleep at all, lol.
