Did your DH/SO give you a "push" present?

My nephew's girlfriend is pregnant and is expecting a push present. Sigh.

Is it just a sign of this "me" generation?

Ok. I'm old so I'll just ask. What is a push present?

It's jewelry or some other gift a mom gets for "pushing" out a baby.

Oh hmm. The only present I expected or wanted was the baby at the end. And after the labor, I was just relieved it was over. What a silly tradition.

I never received one, but they've been popular since before I had my oldest 11 years ago.

No, the present was the baby. I didn't expect or request one. We had just bought a house and that was good enough for me. :)

My husband got me one with our oldest 11 yrs ago and he heard about it from my friend who got hers 16 yrs ago.  Not really a new thing.  My friend got a Coach purse, but my husband got me a Willowtree figure of a couple holding a new baby.

Hell no.  I had my kids 20+ years ago.  This generation is crazy.  We never celebrated anniversaries like dating ones.  We have one anniversary, our wedding anniversary.

I never heard of this.  It seems strange to me to expect a gift from a man for carrying his baby.  -  it may be called for "pushing the baby out" but it is the same thing.
