Make a schedule, and a list of things you have to do, and a list of things you want to do. Decide what your priorities are.

I'm a mom of a son as well and I work outside of the home.  From the time I get off until the time he goes to bed is his time, even when I'm doing housework.  He's either going to help or be in the way.  Also, he's three so singing with his as I do housework is really our thing.

I look up kid friendly events weekly to see what is going on durring the upcoming weekend and take him to what may interest him and is in my budget. On the alternate day, if I decide to; I have my me time( treating myself to a movie) or time with my SO and/or friends.

I hope this helps a little. :)

How old is your son?

I go out once or twice a month. Other than that it's work and kids.

Fire FS should be your very last concern.
Our friends come over on the weekend and we bbq and have a few drinks.
I personally do not think you need to fit "going out" each weekend in.
When you had your child, you made sacrifices. Growing up and not partying is one if them.
Once or twice a month is one thing. But every weekend or more is selfish.
Focus on your job and your son along with your home.

You may need to buy a calendar and make a schedule...

How old are you?

Your son gets 95% of your time and your friends the leftover 5%.
