Birthday weekend?

My son has been invited on a weekend away for a girl in his school's birthday. She is turning 16. The majority of the kids going are 15-16 and mostly boys. Our son is only 13. They will be going shopping during the day but are all staying at this girl's house as her parents are away. I know there has been some flirtation between our son and this girl so you can imagine why I am concerned.

He really wants to go but I am very reluctant. What would ou suggest?

2 moms liked this

Absolutely not! 1) No parents, 2) Mixed gender weekend away, 3) He's 13

Nope.  He is 3 years younger than a majority of the kids.  NO PARENTS.  That is a drunken, pregnancy-fest waiting to happen!

Yeah, no. No parents? No supervision? 3 years younger than the rest? Not gonna happen.

Heck no. No parents at a teen party? That's just asking for trouble.

I would not allow my son to go stay at a house overnight at a party with the other kid's parents away no matter what age my child was.  You know that things will go on there that aren't okay so I wouldn't allow him to be present for what will happen.
