In case you didn't know this about cat bites:

My sister tried to comfort her cat at the vet's, and the cat, in its frenzy, bit her. She had chills that evening and by the next morning had to go to ER with a bad infection. She was in ER about 6 days, receiving antibiotics through a picc line (that went through her arm to her heart) since the bacteria could cause heart damage or death. She discovered that the cat had bitten deeply into her hand and sealed immediately, so the germs entered her blood rather than being bled out as a more shallow bite would have done. She'll be six weeks on antibiotics and treatment.

It was an eye-opener to us for sure. For one thing, her cat is declawed, so its defense is to bite.  I had no idea before this that a cat bite that didn't bleed is a cause for concern.  Now we know.
