Garden, parks, sprinklers, library and museum special days (usually once or twice a week) etc. Does your area have a community kids magazine? They are usually filled with free and cheap things going on.

I'm thinking a sandbox in the yard and a small pool. For going out: zoo, park, visiting relatives and friends.

parks, museums, library, zoos and quiet time at home ;)

I used to do arts and crafts and teach them new things about science and nature.  I think it is the best time to add to their learning school year.
