Are you planning summer vacations yet?

Last year we stayed at a friend's vacation house in the Poconos rent free for a week in August we made lots of fun day trips but I'm hoping we have the funds to do something more exciting this summer. We used to go to Block Island, RI for a week each summer for years. It's beautiful there! Are any of you already planning your summer vacations? Where will you visit? I'm in northeastern PA, btw...so looking for something that doesn't require us to pay airfare.

I'm in the process of planning my vacation via Amtrak.  Depending on the ages of your kids and how many you have, it might make a fun vacation riding the rails (stay in sleeper compartments), stop a night or two someplace fun, then take the train back.

I'm traveling solo, and doing about 8500 miles in 2 weeks!

Yes. We've already reserved a cabin for the end of June.

Where do you go? The beach?

Nope. Our financial situation is so up in the air right now and my husband will possibly have to have surgery on his foot which will put him out of work for 3 months.

So far 2017 isn't shaping up to be any better for us than 2015 or 2016. But, you never know, things could change!

No, we have house repairs to pay for so we probably won't go anywhere.

We loved our mountain trips to TN. So much fun stuff to do.

Yea, I'm not sure what we'll end up doing, but hopefully will pull something off. I need foot surgery, too; I have a huge bunion that needs to be removed and I'll be out of commission for several weeks😒 I work part time but that extra income will be missed when we don't have it.
