Are your kids out of school for the Eclipse today?

There are a few schools in the area that are closed and a few are getting out early. The schools mine go to have opted to delay school dismissal by 30 minutes. They bought each student glasses and asked them to bring a blanket or something to sit on outside to watch it. I have a few friends that are checking their kids out of school early to watch it with them.

My workplace bought every glasses and we are watching it at 230. I usually leave then but I am going to stay the extra minutes.

So what are you plans for the Eclipse- if any?

My oldest was supposed to start preschool today, but they pushed it back to tomorrow, "in the interest of the safety of the students". It doesn't matter; it just gives me the chance to experience it with both of my children.

The next County over has early dismissal today for the eclipse.
We don't have any plans.

Nope. We'd see less than 75% where we live, and when I woke up this morning it's threatening rain, so we won't see anything at all.

Our schools extended dismissal by a bit of time and our classes don't have blinds in most rooms so we opted to keep them home

My 12 year old is so worried about his little brother looking out the windows- I assured him that he would be taken care of (and away from windows) while my mom watched him.

No, our schools bought glasses for the kids and/or going to live stream it. I'm sure some kids will be absent and doing Eclipse stuff with their families as well. We'll watch here at work as well. Our boss got some glasses for us too. My daughter wanted to stay at preschool and watch with  her classmates.
