my son is 5 years old and he has this thing that he has to be under me all the time, i don't understand why he does this when i am in the house. sometimes when i go bathroom he is up my butt, when i go feed the dogs he is under my butt, when i go to the basement he is right behind me but when he goes to his fathers house that is the only time i don't have him under my butt but if i was to go to his fathers house he would do the same thing as well. does anyone has an ideal what i can do?

My 4 year old daughter is like this. On the rare occasion that she is actually playing in her room, she calls me to"come here" to watch her play.
I wish I had advice for you!

I miss those days! Enjoy it while you can.You can praise him when he DOES leave you alone for a few minutes, talk about how much you appreciate how mature and smart he is to be able to spend some time alone, and how he's not a baby anymore. "Wow, you did that all by yourself, I think you are really growing up"

Not all children are the same.
He likes being close to his Mother.
Enjoy the time with him.

Put the kid to work.  If he's going to follow you around, make him help.

Lol! Sometimes, I have to beg and bribe my four year old, to use the bathroom in peace. When I do sneak to the bathroom, once she notices, she's coming in, telling me, I didn't tell her where I was going :-). In all honesty, one of my favorite past times is "torturing" her.

I've had 7 kids under my feet for15 years. It's a stage. You simply accept it and slowly teach them I independence and privacy.
