OK so my daughter is almost 3 months old. She spits up all day long. I have tried so many formulas and she is on zantac. Receently she started having random crying fits every day and she never finishes her bottles. She used to drink 6 ounces every feeding, now i am lucky if she will eat 4! She screams like she is in pain every single day and doctors seem to think nothing is wrong! At first i thought maybe she is a colicy baby, but it really seems like she is pain. She cries and wimpers until she is to tired and falls asleep. I feel so useless like i cant help her. Any ideas? PLEASE!

What formula is she on now?

My daughter started having problems when she was one month old - I didn't agree with our dr. (nothing wrong) - I went to another and found out that the formula she was on was wrong - she was getting constipated! - and she was miserable - well we tried nutramigen (SP?) and she did better - we also tried enulose (a stool softener) She was a new baby!

I did however end up taking her to a specialist for her bowel problems - She was fine - she had a minor problem that she has now outgrown -

But I know what is going on - That just gives mom's a piece of mind -

Remember you know your baby better than anyone! Don't take what they say for gospel! FIND OUT!!!! You and your baby will be happier!!!!

I hope I have helped! Good Luck!!

My daughter was having a similar problem.....Three different docs said she had colic, to let her CIO, and it will go away on its own.
Well as her mother, I knew that thhis was more than just colic. I finally got a 4th opinion and the put her on special meds that seem to be helping....
Point is, you know your child the best and if you aren't comfortable or happy will the answers you are currently getting, see another doctor. There are lots of different options in treating whatever may be causing your baby to spit up and not eat as well. Also, ask to see a GI specialist. There may be something wrong with her GI tract. Good luck honey

I literally went to the bowels of hell and back with my son.  Nutramigen is the only formula that worked at all and that still wasn't enough.  I had to add Karo syrup to it and had to manually disimpact him because the constipation was so bad.... it wasn't until he was 14 months old and had gone through all of this plus chronic ear infections that we found out he had a milk allergy!!!!  Talk to the pediatrician, maybe it is worth a blood test to check for milk allergies... I am not a doctor, but I have been there done that... I have the t-shirt and the coffee mug to prove it.  Food allergies are very common now and it might be worth checking into.  Also Mylanta gas drops for infants helped a lot too.  Good luck.  Message me if you want to talk.

Take a deep breath.  My son went through the same thing which we were told was colic.  We tried everything, Good start included.  We finally ended up on soy formula.  When I think back, it really didn't help too much.  We gave him over the counter Mylicon drops.  It may sound crazy, but I would put my son in the car seat and drive around, especially in the middle of the night when the crying got worse.  I don't recommend doing this alone if at all possible, especially if you are on about day 47 with no sleep, so get someone to ride with you, or drive. And one last thing, for some reason, doctors tend to try to get women to ignore their basic instinct.  There is no instinct greater than the ones we get after becoming moms.  If you feel there is something "Not quite right"  Trust your instincts.  You know your baby better than anyone.  Good Luck!

My daugher was 2 months old, and I just could not take it anymore.  She was so constipated, and had horrible gas.  She would double up and just scream.  I switched to Soy Formula, and I had a brand new baby.

My nephew was diagnosed with acid reflux and was put on several medicines before he was diagnosed with Pyloric stonosis (sp?) it is more common in infants than you might think.  It has the same symptoms as acid reflux, but it is an obstruction in the stomach that doesn't allow the food to pass to the intestines.  Babies scream in pain and have extreme projectile vomiting.  It is fixed with a short surgery.  Check the inernet for other symptoms.  But it took my niece several doctors and visits to get the correct diagnosis.  He never could eat very much because his stomach was full. His best feeding was in the morning.  You probably just have a fussy baby, but it good to cover all bases.  good luck!
