Just wondering if any of you knew if we can eat yogurts with natural cultures like Activia and DanActive while nursing a 13 month old and approx 6 weeks pregnant???  I don't eat these types but would like to, and was hoping someone out there has some answers.  Thanks.

I'm not sure about those kinds of yogurt but I know that Yobaby has a yogurt for moms.  Sorry that's the only info I know.

No!! It can cause the baby to have its first bowle movement inside of you and it is poisonous...No laxitves or anything that will help you poop...unless you talk to your doc first...

Ok in my 5 years in OB I have never heard anything like that ,Crystal!

Yogurt of any kind as long as its with Pasturized milk is fine during pregnancy. It will not make the baby have a bowel movement inside.  The bacteria in yogurt is already found in the human digestive tract. It just replaces what is lost due to die off, antibiotics and such.

Stress to the fetus or  post dates cause fetus's to have a bowel movement in utero ( inside) ! Its called meconium and the older the fetus gets(36 weeks and up) it is a problem if the fetus is stressed by labor or other issues.

Here is an article on yogurt on MSNBC.com
