this all started back around Oct. of last yr. my now 9 month old niece was hospitalized w/ RSV. after couple of days was discharged and we were told there was nothing else that was done but observation. well, she never really got over it. we have been to so many different doc. appt. for every knew symptom, however, docs. just keep saying she is fine. off and onhere are her symptoms:  congestion (put on albuterol and pulmicort (steroid) 4x daily), sometimes her limbs are red maybe swollen (she is very chunky baby, no wrists or ankles), cough, runny nose, fever (4 days now currently) of 103.8, vomiting of everything including meds, formula, pedialyte, bottled water, very lethargic, crying, whinny, just not herself. couple of days ago, i took her to doc. (2 days after last appt.) and she had mild right ear infection. but is vomiting up her antibiotics for that. docs. keep saying that she is perfectly healthy, children's mercy said it was allergies. (mothers intuition says that's a load of crap). i know that we are suppose to trust our children's docs. but something is not right w/ this little girl. just called doc. again and he wants to see her yet another time.  does any of this sound familiar to anyone?  at first we thought just cold, but since Oct.?  Please help.

Sorry to hear about little one.  I would get her MEDICAL RECORDS and take her for a second /third opinion.  If your motherly intuition is telling you something is wrong go with you gut.  There has to be some doctor out there that has the knowledge to know what to do.  Good luck.  I keep ya'll in our prayers.

she had been going to this hospital/doc.office since she was born. and has seen 5 different docs. either oncall or referral and docs. PA's. and besides what chirlden's mercy is saying they all have agreed that she was healthy.

I'm sorry you're goin through this. I know how hard this can be. I don't really know what to tell you, butt the drs can give her an atibiotic shot if you tell them she can't keep her meds down.

Hi,
I am very sorry, I would stick with intuition, If you think the doc is not right , find another. that seems like a long time to be having trouble. But my niece had RSV and she was getting sick every time she turned around. It weakens the immune system.. I give my boys (and take myself) a supplement called
Cuturelle it is  a pro-biotic, lactobacillus GG, it put all the good bacteria into the intestinal tact, aiding normal digestion and supporting the body's immune system. It comes in capsules, my 10 year just takes that, but my 5 year old I mix in cho-milk. My Niece gives it the her baby. It is safe for infants to.You can but it a WalMart, it is usually with the tums and things like that.  Yellow/Green box
Good luck, Hope she is better soon !!

she had alot of problems w/ her formula from day one.  after switching several times, we finally found one that didnt make her tummy upset. but would she be running a high fever like this for this long w/ an allergy? IDK. and to the mom w/ the post above this one.  i am going to pass this information on to my sis.  anything at this point we are willing to try. please ladies, i do mean any and all ideas.  we are desperate to find out what is wrong w/ our baby girl.  thanks

Emily would run fever for no reason, the doctor said it was her body trying to keep the milk and things from getting at her system, and come to find out a shoot she had been getting since she was born was also making her sick.

I dont know if this will help or not.. When my son was 5 months old he began getting rashes.. all the time.. then fevers.. then colds.. virual infections.. and eventually when nothing worked to get the fever down, he began having seizures.. Finally after seeing every specialist possible we found out he had an immune diffeciency.. He was almost 1yr before we found this out.. He had reactions to the live vaccines.. anytime anyone was sick, even if they didnt know they were sick, he would get sick.. It isnt as bad now, but he still is sick alot.. when he was 8months old he had a fever for 18days straight, ranging from 103.4 to 105.8.. nothing got it down.. and honestly I think that for months the doctors thought I was over reacting... When they finally figured it out my pedi actually apologized to me..
Just keep following your instincts.. something will turn up.. Something isnt right that she is sick like that.. if you ever want to talk I am here
