Does being angry and emotional all the time affect my breast feeding or my baby?

I just moved back home with my mom and we've been having a lot of issues. I cried everyday this whole week and i've also gotten real upset everyday of this week. Some people tell me that the baby feels what im feeling and some people also tell me its not good that im angry and breastfeeding because im only passing all the anger to the baby. Help! is this true? Any advice?

Um passing the feelings on to the baby through breastfeeding? Thats crazy....

I know at first my dd had probs latching on and I would cry.......the lactation consultant told me I needed to calm down cause she was feeling my stress and not latching on.....but then she caught on and it was smooth sailing....

Good luck hon! I know life can be very stressful at times..

I can't help you. Ive been wondering the same thing. My boyfriend just left me and I've been very upset, almost depressed. Our baby will be 3 months 27 of December.

Yes this is true. Your baby can feel the stress in the way you hold and respond to them. My midwife told me that when you are stressed or angry your body releases a hormone into your milk that can make it taste bad to them which can make them cranky..

Yesterday I got in a nasty fight with my husband, and i cried alot.. I pumped and threw away the milk. I fed her formula, then an hr later breastfed her.. Just 10 min later, she was all cranky and wouldnt stop crying!!

Yes,babe has felt your every emotion while in your womb. Babe is still highly attached to your emotions. That's why many times it is hard to calm a newborn when you get upset. You two feed off of each other.... And not the secure feelings... But anxiety instead.
