It's been awhile so I don't really remember everything about little ones and fevers. I know anything above 101.0 needs to be checked out my a dr. but i don't remember how to bring the fever down .... Can I give her Tylenol?? I don't remember?

I really don't remember how young you can give tylenol...or how to much you would need to give if you can give it at 5 weeks. I'd go ahead and call the doctor just to be sure personally.

A 5 week old should NOT have a fever, do not give Tylenol without DRs consent. Call your pediatrician ASAP. My DD was hospitalized at 8 weeks old due to a fever. Do not mess around. Good luck!

personally, if it's over 99.8 i was told to call my pedi, and he said he would tell me to go to the ER. babies that young aren't supposed to have rectal temps above 99.5. but that's my pediatrician...yours may be different..

I give my daughter 1 tsp. motrin.  It was recommended by her pediatrician.

You can give them infant Tylenol. Then call the dr. Taking them to the ER probably will be a waste since those drs aren't pedi's go see your reg pedi. If you call the pedi they will tell you to give Tylenol.

That's really the only thing that can be done at that age because they are too young for anything else and it's probably viral so they don't give anything anyway. Still need to see the pedi though.

She's at 99.5 right now. I'll call the dr.

Don't give motrin until they're 6 months it's bad for their liver.

I agree a 5 wk old should not have a fever.  It can be serious.  I would definately go to the dr. right away.
