The other morning, I got out of the shower and as I was getting dressed and I noticed a lump under my arm right in line with my right breast. I didn't think much of it because I had been wearing a new bra and I thought the wire was just pressing into me. Now, the lump is still there and its sore. I told my mom about it and she told me to get it checked out. I'm scared to for obvious reasons, I don't want them to tell me something bad, but who does. But also because my sister got a TON of lumps in breasts removed and none where cancerous. Thankfully.

I haven't even told my husband about it yet, because he's seen a bunch of my family members pass because of cancer and he is so worried that I am going to get it.

So I guess what I am asking is, should I call my gyno or my regular doctor, that seems a little dumb I guess because I don't know who to call.  But if anyone has any advice or can tell me who I should call that would be great. I am visiting my parents in NH right now and my regular doctor is in DC, I have a gyno up here though that I could go see because my records haven't been moved yet.

Anyone?

i don't think it matters which one you call.  i don't have a regular dr, and my gyno checks my boobs at my annual visits.  so obviously i would call her.  i would just go in asap.  because you don't want to put it off if it is something worse.  good luck!!!

My mother has the same problem they come and go, when she went in to have one of them biopsy'd the doctor told her that they were caffiene cysts..He told her to slow down the caffiene intake and they went away.  Just a thought, I hope everything works out for you !!

Depending on how large it is or where it is, it could be a lymph node. Possibly nothing to stress over. But with you're background go have it looked at.

Please make an appt with either your regular doctor or you gyno ASAP. Either one can help you, or refer you to a specialist. Hopefully it is nothing, a swollen gland, ingrown hair, something else silly.... but if it is cancer, you will have the advantage of catching it in the early stages. I had a small bump in my armpit near my boob when I was 18, & I was stupid & never told anyone about it. It went away within a month or two & hasn't come back in 4 yrs. I keep thinking to myself, that I would NEVER just let it go now! Your kid(s) need you, please get it checked.
