1st b-day cake ideas...help

hi, i am looking for cake ideas for my son's 1st b-day. let me say first off, i am not very good at baking! So if anyone has any pic's and recipes that aren't to hard....i would really appreciate it. Thanks,

You could do cup cakes. It is a nice size for little ones.  You could then put different letters on each one to spell out Happy Birthday.  That is what we did, and it worked out great.  They also sell some cup cake kits to make a bigger "cake".  Keeps thing easy for you.

i made one years ago and it was pretty easy. i made a sheet cake in a jelly roll pan. then i tinted vanilla frosting green and frosted the cake to look like grass. then i made cupcakes and placed them on the cake to look like a caterpillar walking along the grass. for the head i made eyes and used black licorice string for the antennas. be creative. it's fun!
