I have had a little bump on my jaw for the past couple of days, and it really is starting to hurt. It's also giving me a bit of an earache (it's at the back of my jaw, close to my ear). Does anybody know what it could be? I live really far from town, so I really don't want to drive all the way in to see the doctor to find out that it's nothing.

I have no clue, I'd be giving the dentist a call. It could be anything from a cyst, to an infection, to even a tumor. Wont know until its x-rayed or biopsied.

My first thought is a dental abscess. Do you have any broken teeth or cavities that aren't taken care of? I would definitely get it looked at, and keep an eye on your temp. Even if your temp doesn't go up, see a doc asap.. If your temp starts to rise, I'd definitely get to an ER or Urgent Care. Good luck, and I hope you feel better!
