Maybe a broken rib?

Yesterday morning I started to get horrible back pain to the point where I was about to cry. I can't pick up my 1 year old, I can't breathe, it hurts to move my left arm, lift anything with it, and even stand up. I can't find a comfortable position. Sitting up hurts, lying back hurts. I don't know what's wrong. I don't think it's a broken rib because it's my back that hurts not my chest.

The part of my back that hurts is right where my bra strap connects, a little to the left of that. It feels like a stabbing sensation.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you been doing anything strenuous? Lifting anything really heavy?  You could have pulled a muscle but you may want to go to the doctor.   I sprained my back once and didn't realize it until i went to my chiropractor.   I had back pain but didn't think it was all that serious.

If it was your ribs trust me you would know it.  I cracked my ribs years ago and it was agony.
