I posted this question in another group and heard about this group so i thought i would ask here too. Here is what i posted in the other group.....

Well, last night i made a post of rating our kids names. I got a comment about my 2ed DDs middle name. Cheyenne Rene is her name. I went on to tell the story of how we picked her name......'

When i was pregnant with her i worked with a woman who just found out she was pregnant too. This lady had something like 4 miscarriages before this one. Her uterus wasnt able to hold the babies so she would go into labor after 4 months and of course the babies didnt survive ( a very sad story) But with that pregnancy it was different because, as long as it took, the doctors finally got a clue of what was going on and decided to stitch her cervix shut so she wouldn't deliver early.

When she found out i picked the name Cheyenne she had a total fit because she said that was " her name" ( for the baby she was carrying) and wanted to know why everyone was trying to steal her name!!   Then she said " tell me the middle name isnt going to be Rose" ( since thats what she picked.) I was surprised because i had no idea she had come up with this name. My moms name is Rose and i wanted my childs middle name to be Rose because of it. My oldest DD got her middle name from DH mother. We ended up going with Rene ( after my niece) because i didnt want to upset her ( knowing what a fragile state she must have been in since she had 4 previous miscarriages)

I totally regret it. I still to this day, 10 years later, tell my mom i should have named one of the kids after her. I have thought on and off about changing it or adding Rose to it but i dont know how hard that is or IF i should do it at all??

What do you think?? And how do you go abouts to doing that??

BTW: i was young back then and am nothing like that today. Nobody pushed me around today....lol

I would leave it be. Your dd already knows that name.

My ex husband was adopted by his step father after my son was born. He added his step father's last name with a hyphen to his last name. My son only had the one last name.

So when my son was four we changed his last name to match the rest of the families (I had a daughter during that time) We had to stand before a judge and explain why we were changing his name. We paid about 100 dollars and filled out some paper work. It was easy, just call the court house and they can tell you what to do.

I think given your daughters age, she should make the final decision.

Cheyenne Rose Rene'e.  I'd add the 2nd "e" to Renee also because 1 "e" is the male form in french.  (I'm Jennifer Rene'e lmao)
