Just curious if you are, or if the person you know find it's necessary to constantly talk about money, or what you buy, or what you give your children?  I know a couple people who have money or are pretty wealthy and have never had any of them talk about their money or what they do with it, or what they buy.   So I'm just curious, b/c to me, people like that are either missing something else in life or they don't really have what they say they have, or they are using a bunch of credit cards.

  • I find it tacky. We are set with money, but I never go pretty much rubbing it in peoples faces. It just makes you look like an idiot IMO!!

  • I agree.  I know several very wealthy people who are very quiet about their money (especially in this economy).  They live in modest homes, drive average cars and dont flaunt what they have.  I think those who do, are bogus and need the attention from others.

  • generally I find that people who are quick to tell you how much something cost aren't worth messing with.

We certainly aren't hurting and we have some friends who are VERY comfortable and I have no idea what they really earn or how much things cost.

I'm never going to be embarrased or apologize for what I have or can afford because I work VERY hard for it, I don't consider myself well off - just comfortable.  but I'm never going to rub it in other peoples faces either.

Everything can change in an instance so I try to never take anything for granted.

  • My moms landlady is pretty wealthy....(she is in real estate)....but you would never know it...she shops at Goodwill and yard sales....when I was younger she would ask me if i could babysitt her 2 lil girls at her home....and boy this lady really didnt care about her money...it was ALL over the house....wads of $20's on the kitchen counter.....wads of $$ on top the TV in her living room.....her lil girls had their princess toy purses filled with $$....and her jewelery was just tossed wherever she took it off.....and yet her kids would wear clothes from Goodwill !!!

Overall she is a nice lady...never snobby or rubbing her $$$ in our faces....

  • Truely wealthy people do not talk about their money. It's not necessary.

LOL, from the mouth of Paris Hilton, you NEVER say how much something costs OR how much money you have.

  • My family...well the ones on my dads side, have quite a bit of money, but as far as I know they don't always yap....yap about it, but they do buy new cars or use it to fix their homes and add pools to their homes, you know stuff like that.  i always notice that people that have lots of money arent really showy, especially if their older, but then those that claim they have lots of money are the ones that boast about it....and they always seem to be the younger people, but like I said thats just what i noticed around me....
