Ok I know this is TMI but I need advice from you ladies. I am not much on shaving.....down there but because it is summer time and I have been wearing bathing suits I decided last night that I better. So I wake up this morning with a HUGE reminder why I don't like to shave...down there. I am covered in razor bumps and they itch and are soar at the same time.

So my Questions are: Do you shave?

If so do you just edge up or do you buzz cut?

Do you have these problems afterwards?

If so how do you deal, If not how do you prevent?

Thanks ladies and sorry this is a little too personal!!!

If i get razor burn i put alittle baby oil gel on it and that stops the itch, the bumps will go away on there own. I just trim mine up so it don't look to bushy i guess. I use a good shaving cream on it and that helps me.

No, I don't shave, bare anyway. What I usually do is have my husband get out his beard trimmers once a month and go in for a haircut. I let him do it because he can get in all the nooks and cranny's I don't. Besides, he can actually see it all instead of how we go for the bump and feel method in certain places. I know what you mean by the unpleasant reminder of why not to shave. As far as getting rid of the razor burn, I think Noxema or Nair or something like that, makes a cream for razor bumps. It's in the same section that you find the waxing and bleach creams. Hope it heals fast.

Its bad the first time you do it... but if you keep it completely shaved for awhile it wont itch or bother you at all. I have shaved completely every other day for about 5 years, and altho it itched like crazy the first time or two it doesnt anymore. I found that baby oil did help when it was too itchy the first few times I shaved.

i use baby oil before and after or sometimes ill put benadryl itch relief stuff on it (its the kids kind, looks like aloe or hair gel, idk) and i rarely get the razor bumps anymore. if i do itll be like in the crease between my leg and crotch area. I also noticed that the more i shave down there the easier it is, so i think thats why i dont get as much bumps and such now.

I know that you are supposed to put the razor in alcohol use a soap that is antibacterial before and after you shave and then use a moisturizing shave gel.  I don't do any of this which I should but that is what you are supposed to do.  Oh and don't shave against the "grain"

Yea I shaved completly once or twice and thought I was gonna die....even though I couldn't I felt like standing there with my hands down my pants itching all day. It was so sore my husband couldn't touch me and let me tell you it surely wasn't pretty LOL.... Another poster suggested the baby oil so I am going to deffinetly try that and see if it helps!! Thanks

I shave bare and keep it that way. I do get bumps and an occasional ingrown hair but nothing terrible. I don't start to itch unless I haven't shaved in a couple days and it's scruffy. I never had too much problem with itching and such but I have heard it suggested that you put Dove deodorant on it (has lotion in it). I think anything that keeps it moisturized helps!
