Credit Score help

Ok, so I need some advice on raising my credit score.

Last year I paid off all the negative items on my credit report. I am now debt free! woohoo. But, all those accounts, though they are paid, are still on my report and will remain there for 6 more years...and that is keeping my score down.

I have heard of companies who can get the accounts off of my report by forcing the collection agencies to provide 7 forms of verification for the accounts they are holding under my name. The only companies I can find online look kindof scammy. Any of you ever use this kind of service? And if so, can you recomend a good company or lawyer? Or, do you know how I can do it myself?

Thanks!

Not sure how much you are willing to pay but you could either get a lawyer in your area, or call each collection agency yourself and tell them to take it off and tell them you have a lawyer.
